The Process of the Occurrence of the Aurora

in GLOBAL STEEM3 years ago

Speaking of nature, there is one thing that should not be missed when traveling to the ends of the earth, namely the natural phenomena that adorn this beautiful polar sky. But this natural show only exists at certain times. But it's very beautiful, depending on where you want to see it, in the north polar region, or the south pole.

The ark of light was dancing in the sky. Aurora amazes the inhabitants of the earth because of its beauty.

Aurora, comes from the Latin, which means sunrise. This magical light is about 100-300 km above the earth in the Minosphene layer. Auroras are formed as a result of the interaction between Earth's magnetic field and charged particles emitted by the sun.

Plasma or a combination of electron particles originating from the sun is thrown at high speed, about 750 km per second.

These electrically charged particles are called the solar wind or solar wind. They are separated from the sun due to the high temperature waves of the sun and the genetic energy that has both particles. Before reaching the earth, these particles are blocked by magnetic field lines called magnetsphare.

The magenosphere functions as a protector of the earth by making a membrane, so that electrons do not go directly to the earth. Then the electrons will follow the current of the magnetic field towards the north pole and south pole.

When they reach the poles, these charged particles interact with atoms in the Earth's atmosphere. It is this interaction that gives rise to beautiful and spectacular colors.

The green and red colors are the reaction of the meeting between charged particles and oxygen atoms. If charged particles meet or are hydrogenated, the result is blue and purplish red.

Because the appearance is at two different poles, the name aurora is also distinguished according to its place. Aurora Australis, is found in areas with high southern latitudes in Antarctica, South America and Australia.

Australis itself comes from the Latin meaning south. Aurora Australis appears between March and September. Generally this nature show lasts about 15 minutes, up to 3 hours.

Meanwhile, the aurora found at the north pole is called the aurora borealis.

The name borealis is taken from the Greek, which means north wind. The aurora borealis can only be seen in the Aptic Circle region of northern Canada, Alaska, Russia and Scandinafia. The aurora borealis often appears in September and October, or sometimes March and April.

Aurora also cannot be separated from the phenomenon of solar storms. This event gave birth to a powerful explosion that released high-energy particles with a speed of up to 2200 km per second. As happened in the areas of Norway and Finland in 2012 ago.

This aurora is caused by the explosion of the sun on sunspots. Although very pleasing to the eye, solar storms must still be watched out for, because they have the potential to damage satellite equipment, communication tools, interfere with navigation, and cause corrosion of underground pipelines.

As long as there's this magnetic field, that's where the bursts of aurora glow appear.

That's what makes this natural phenomenon not only belongs to the earth. A number of other planets also experienced the same reaction. These include the planets Jupiter and Saturn.

Best regards always.
