Footprints on the beach...
At first, deep. Clear. Full of confidence.
You walk forward, fighting the waves,
thinking the sand will always strengthen your footing.
Then the waves come.
One, two, three times.
Your footprints are slowly erased.
All that's left is wet and flat.
It feels like all your steps mean nothing.
Like you were never really "there."
