The Gaming Holiday Sales Are Here!

in #gaming7 years ago

After eating entirely too much turkey I decided to browse the web to see what kind of sales I could find for some Christmas shopping. Waiting in long lines at retail stores isn't my style so instead, I turned to the internet! I picked up some cool stuff, and I thought I'd share the best gaming sales I've found thus far!

If you don't mind some of your presents being gently used then Gamestop is running a sale on all used games! I picked up quite a few games for Christmas for the buy 2 get 1 free deal, and I used my partner's pro membership to save 10% on all of them as well! Keep in mind that the free game will be the cheapest one in the cart. So, to take full advantage of this deal you should hold off on buying any really cheap games as there's no restrictions. ie. If you purchase two $50 games and one $10 game then the $10 one will be your freebie, but if you purchase three $50 games you can save a lot more. It's a pretty sweet deal in my opinion, however many new games are also half price right now if you prefer not to get used copies.

If you're interested in picking up a console you can also save $50-90 on most PS4 and Xbox systems. They were running a deal where you would also get a free $50 Gamestop giftcard, but it seems that's now unavailable? Not sure if they'll be offering it again soon or not so you'll have to keep looking. You can also get free shipping if you spend over $35.

For the PC Gamers, it's time for the Steam Autumn sale! Now through November 28th is the time to buy for a lot of interesting titles you may have been looking to pick up. You can expect to save anywhere from 15-80% on over 6,500 titles. Also, If you're interested in a Steam Link for your TV those are 90% off.

Need a new PC to play those sweet Steam sale games on? Amazon is running some sales on computer parts right now! You can save 20% of AMD Ryzen processors or Intel processors, 40% on 4k monitors, and anywhere from 10-40% off select SSDs. As far as consoles go though I think Gamestop has better sales right now. However, if you're in the market for any PC parts I'd check it out as there's some good deals to be had.

If Amazon didn't fit the bill for PC parts don't forget about Newegg! They have some great stuff, and you might actually save more. Amazon price matches everyone to make it seem like there's no reason to buy anywhere else, but it seems Newegg has a sneaky work around. For example, this Intel processor is the same price on Amazon due to price matching, BUT Newegg is also offering a limited "promo code". When entered it will save you an additional $10.

I'm thinking this is to get around Amazon's price match system haha. So, it's certainly worth comparing. (Oh, and Newegg also accepts bitcoin!) As for their sales they have a lot of stuff from processors (around 20% off), laptops, drones, half price gaming/office furniture, and they're even offering discounts on some 3rd party giftcards!

While Walmart had nothing particularly appealing there were some good deals at Target for gamers. You can save around $100 on either Xbox or PS4 consoles. You can get a $25 gift card for free for buying the Xbox, and if you spend over $50 on anything you'll get a 20% off coupon by e-mail for a future purchase. The game sales themselves are not very impressive though, and you'll save a lot more elsewhere. Use your 20% off coupon for groceries or something.

I think that's about all I found so far. Did you find any good deals Steem users should know about?
