I haven't been around much, but I have a good excuse. Art Installation coming soon!
I have been all-consumed, as of late... with very little time to myself, let alone to go on steemit. I have missed you!! But I have a 9 week old baby and tomorrow I also have an art installation going up (I will include photos in my next post!)
Baby Jacob is doing well! I am so in love with my baby boy. I will share some posts about my experiences with feedings in future posts, and about my recovery from surgery, soon.
This post I will let you know a bit about a new painting I have been working on the last few weeks. It is a 15 foot long by 3 foot wide acrylic on vellum painting, with back-lighting. It if for a festival and will be about 20 feet up in the air.
I thought I had an idea of what I was going to be doing with this piece, but it didn't take me long to realize that I had no clue what I was doing with this project! Having to learn as I went revealed things I had not considered and I had to re-calibrate as I progressed. The vellum I received was not as I had originally imagined it and so my technique had to adapt and as I painted the image changed. This is the largest painting I have ever done. I was painting blind until I realized I could suspend the paper against my dining room window and see the way the light cast its shadows, creating a whole other dimension that I needed to consider. I did not document any of this, unfortunately. I was ashamed of my work space, as I do not have a studio...and I was totally pre-occupied with my lovely baby...so it didn't occur to me, until now. I will start taking pics of the execution of this project, though!
Enough about me, how have YOU been this last month?
Very good your baby.
Thanks!
Your baby looks as happy with you as you do with him Michelle!
I love your work and keep it up :)
Thank you :)
