Siya and Rachel Kolisi at end function of Extreme Ride4Hunger Tour, with Northern Cape Meals on Wheels Director.
Our South African Springbok rugby team captain met up to say hi and show support for the cause after his wife Rachel finished the 1000km challenge.

Rachel is a real inspiration. She is not a cyclist but decided to do the 1000km tour to help with the cause. After only 3 months of training she bravely took on the challenge and finished every single kilometer of this grueling tour.
Rachel is not only courageous but also one of the kindest and most humble people. She setup brand new charities along the route and organised ongoing support and checks up on these on a regular basis.
As the Meals on Wheels and Extreme Ride organisation we are super proud and honoured to have Rachel as part of the team.
The team also handed out some bicycles to some kids on one of the charity stops. Encouraging the youngsters to start cycling.

Great post and nice info. Is this initiative advertised properly, as I have never heard about it except for your posts!!
@rynow
We had some TV and radio interviews, but each year we getting a little more exposure, also with some celebs getting involved also helped, we do not really have money to spend on huge ads etc. as it is a charity non profit organisation. we have however been growing quite steadily. We have had quite a lot of overseas entries for next year, we also have limited space as the tour includes everything you need. so the cyclists who enter have full accommodation, all meals paramedics, support vehicles etc. over the full 6 days, so we really can only accommodate 40 entries at the moment.
We started 4 years ago with 8 entries and grown each year, this year we had 29 entrants. So far there have already been 25 confirmed entrants. Leaving space for only 15 more. So the advertising is more to create more awareness to Meals On Wheels, and getting younger people involved, we also take on 5 young underprivileged kids and Panda Sportswear sponsors them with a bicycle, kit and training.
So far those that took part in previous years are doing really well and some wining races and could possibly go pro. They are very ambitious, and because it is really the only thing they have they truly put in the work.
Thanks for reading post and commenting, feel free to spread the word, all the relevant links are in the post. Have a great evening :-)

That is true. It is a fun way to support a great initiative. And see the country on an adventure challenge. 😊🚴♂️

What an inspiration Rachel is! The training and then cycling in the race that she did is incredibly hard and it takes a real spirit of devotion to get through it. She's definitely got that spirit, in droves!
She is indeed a huge inspiration with a big heart
