The Initiative "Kommune.Digital"

Two years ago I founded a working group with the name "Kommune.Digital". The reason was very simple. In Europe and in Germany, the country I was born, educated and raised, our society is losing more and more the momentum by being under digitized. Especially in our 11.000 smaller and midsized municipalities our society encounters challenges such as location attrition, trade deficit, closure of retail, deterioration of the infrastructure etc. Small and midsized businesses are closing their shops and offices almost daily. Many leeches in the citycenters. The tristesse becomes frustrating. The city managers and political leaders are overwhelmed. Most of them have not a real plan to face the digital transformation. Germany is still not in the worst position, but I have travelled through many European smaller towns and villages. Wow! I was terrified!

My initative "Kommune.Digital" supports a holistic approach to connect and interface the entire municipality based on the Internet. My team and partners are pursuing a unique approach that defrags and networks, instead of creating proprietary models like the usual concepts been used in todays municipalities and smaller towns. With the name "Kommune.Digital", I have created a community and working group together with technology companies, social experts and some maniacs, that make municipalities fit for the future. This group is growing consistantly. We know the technology and understand the situation as well as the challenges of the municipalities.

In the future I will use the Steemit platform to exchange and discuss ideas, models and solutions which will help, especially our rural society in Europe to survive the digital revolution. I would like to invite every Steemit member to support "Kommune.Digital" by sharing ideas and critical coverage to make this initiative one of yours. "Kommune.Digital" is not only a vision. It is the basis for a successful and valuable platform and solution for us, our children and their children. Our future society.

Why Steemit? I think this platform has powerful, engaged and intelligent people to maintain the right type of support by creating proper and honest content by sharing ideas and transport those to the world and the right targetgroups.
