“Seeing Him Who is Invisible”
Mat 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
So many promises we postpone their fulfillment to when we get to heaven. For sure the complete fulfillment of this promise to see God will be in heaven.
But I believe we can experience seeing God while we are still here on earth. We may see through a dark glass. Only the redeemed of the Lord have this privilege or promise.
The Bible speaks of Moses as speaking face to face with God as a friend would speak or his friend.
Heb 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
Whenever anyone in the Old Testament had an encounter with. God, it is a pre virgin birth appearance of the Son of God. A Christophany.
Like Saul on the road to Damascus or John as he sees the glorified Jesus while on the Island of Patmos. We may or may not see a physical manifestation of Jesus, but we can perceive and see and know intimately Jesus. We can gaze upon Him with our spiritual eyes. And see the invisible God. We can look into the Most Holy Place and truly know our Savior, Lord and God. Not just knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him.
But there is a requirement! Says in the verse I first quoted. Most of the promises of God are conditional!
The pure in heart! Our heart has to be pure! I have met some that say they have had these encounters with Jesus. But I see their own arrogance, that to me, proves they really did not encounter the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
When you truly gaze on the Son, you see your own depravity. You realize He is Awesome and you are not. Like the Apostle John you fall like a deadman at His feet! You get knocked off of your horse and are humbled!
Like Mary, you treasure the experience in your heart! You don’t become the braggart that says constantly, “God appeared to me!” “I am His chosen vessel!” “I am special!”. The person who truly encounters Jesus, the “me and I” gets purged from their vocabulary and it all is about HIM!
Wow very good post sir ,I like this post
Thank you!
