God Knows We Need to Worship Him

Joh 4:23 “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

Joh 4:24 “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

When I read a New Testament Scripture, I like to look for a correlating scripture in the Old Testament.

If we look at these two scriptures. John 4:23 and 2 Chr 16:9 we can see many similarities. In both cases God is looking for something or someone.

He is looking for WORSHIPPERS!

• They must worship in Soirit and in truth!
• Their hearts must be perfect toward him!
• I like how the KJV puts it, “He works strong (or mightily) on their behalf”.

KJV) “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him”

Strong’s Comcordance says of the word “Strong” in the above scripture.

I have heard people and I have heard sermons that suggests that God created the heavens and the earth and then created man, because He was lonely and needed companionship.

So many times man tries to bring God down to our level and make comparisons about Him based on ourselves.
This is futile because God stands alone as unique and there is no one else that even comes close to comparing it Him. The I Am that I Am. The All Sufficent God! El Shadai! The Alpha and the Omega!

• He never learns as He already knows all things!
• He has no beginning and no end!
• There is no other God besides Him, no not one!

God is complete by Himself and has no need of anyone or anything!

God does not need our worship! HE KNOWS WE NEED TO WORSHIP HIM!

God enjoys our worship!

God knows this,
We will become like what or who we worship the most. Worship to kiss! To adore! To gaze upon!

If you worship money you become greedy, self centered and fearful! You become like the guy Jesus spoke about that tore down his smaller barns to build bigger barns.

Luk 12:18 “And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

If your idol is a singer, musician, some actress or model! You begin to talk like these folks and wear your hair like them. You see consumer targeting know this, so they have your star drink coke and have a Gucci bag, so imprinted in your mind you desire the same for you!

We can make an idol out of intellect, beauty, possessions, the sun, the moon, trees and animals.

God will not tolerate any idols in our life! We are commanded to worship Him and Him alone! Because our God, His Name is Jealous! He is a Jealous God, Jealous for our affections! Not because He needs our Worship!

Because He knows we need to worship Him!
Because He knows it is good for us to worship him!
He knows no devil can stand against a true worshipper
He desires to work strong on our behalf of him whose heart is perfect towards Him
A true Worshipper will not let any other affection take the place of God.
A true worshipper cannot be conquered, but will conquer.
A true worshipper of God will not let anything hinder their fellowship with the Father
A true worshipper hates sin!
A true worshipper has a Holy and pure heart.

We become like the one we worship.
1Jn 1:1 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;”
John said the One we gazed upon!

Heb 11:27 “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”
Moses saw Him Who is Invisible!

2Co 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Our one true goal as a Christian is to be like Jesus! Our highest calling and what should be our greatest desire should not be to be successful. Our true success is to look like, act like, talk like and smell like Jesus!
The true worshipper will become like the One we worship!

When God finds a person like this. A man after His own heart. He will work strong or mightily on your behalf.
When a true worshipper wakes up in the morning, the demons in hell tremble!

Psa 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
Psa 149:2 Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Psa 149:3 Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Psa 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Psa 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Psa 149:6 Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
Psa 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
Psa 149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
Psa 149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
