Good morning friends @steemskillshare. This is going to be my first time of participating in this community and I'm so glad about it. This post serves as an entry to the ongoing #FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST contest BY @life.pics. Stay tuned, read and enjoy yourself.

I'll be talking about one food we AkwaIbomites over here in Nigeria love cooking almost all the weekend and everyday. It is called "Afang soup". Afang soup is a simple soup one can actually prepare if you have crayfish and Maggi, other ingredients are minor and not really necessary.

You'll see this same meal in all the restaurants in town even if other soups are not around. You'll see this particular meal in different occasions such as child dedication ceremony, naming ceremony, convention, marriages, matriculation, convocations, name it etc.

It's one meal everyone loves trust me, when I mean everyone, then it's everyone. Personally, I like Afang soup and today I'll be sharing with you guys recipes on how to prepare Afang soup without stress.

WHY AND HOW I PHOTOGRAPHED THIS PARTICULAR FOOD
Whilst preparing it, I asked my kid sis to snap everything I asked her to so I could join the contest.

Why I choose this food is because I love it and I prepare it more often at home. Like I had already said earlier, Afang soup is sweet and easy. It doesn't take much time to prepare.

#This serves as my recipes
There are Afang leaves in the market and even in our small farm in the backyard. You can decide to pluck from your farm or go get it in the market.

Whichever one you want to but it usually have lots of sand so what we do is to wash it after plucking before slicing and pounding it using mortar and pestle.

I bought mine in the market, it was sliced already so all I did was give it to be grinded.

  • Wash the waterleaf very well to avoid sand
