ေျမကြက္လပ္ မက္တတ္သူမ်ား

Most interesting and benevolent thing on the part of colonial administrators was in every town they left a large space called 'Maidaan', and Indian word meaning 'space' or 'field'. It was meant to be a permanent public space to be used for public gatherings, social, cultural, religious functions and later with introduction of democratic local elections to Municipal committees, political meetings and public demonstrations.
စိတ္ဝင္စားစရာအေကာင္းဆံုးနဲ႔ ေက်းဇူးတင္စရာအေကာင္းဆံုးလုပ္ရပ္ကေတာ့ ကိုလိုနီအ႐ွင္သခင္ႀကီးမ်ားအေနနဲ႔ ၿမိဳ႕တိုင္းၿမိဳ႕တိုင္းမွာ (maidaan) မိုင္ဒါကြင္းလို႔ ေခၚတဲ့ ကြက္လပ္က်ယ္ႀကီးေတြ ခ်န္ထားခဲ့တာပဲ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ အဲဒီကြက္လပ္ေတြက အမ်ားျပည္သူေတြ၊ လူမႈေရး၊ ယဥ္ေက်းမႈ၊ ဘာသာေရးနဲ႔ ေနာက္ပိုင္းမွာ ေဒသဆိုင္ရာ အာဏာပိုင္အဖြဲ႔အစည္းျဖစ္တဲ့ ျမဴနီစီပယ္ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲေတြ ေပၚေပါက္လာတဲ့အခါမွာ ႏိုင္ငံေရးတရားပြဲေတြ၊ မဲဆြယ္ပြဲေတြ က်င္းပဖို႔နဲ႔ မေက်နပ္သူေတြအေနနဲ႔ ဆႏၵေဖာ္ထုတ္ဖို႔ အလြန္အဆင္ေျပတာကို ေတြ႔ရပါတယ္။

With independence came insurgency, with fascist trained army leadership unable to root out insurgents like the professional soldiers did in Malaysia and Thailand; rural areas became insecure and villagers flocked to towns and cities. This internally displaced population became squatter colonies.
လြတ္လပ္ေရးလည္း ရလာေရာ၊ လြတ္လပ္ေရးနဲ႔ တစ္ပါတည္း ျပည္တြင္းေသာင္းၾကမ္းမႈလည္း ပါလာတာေၾကာင့္ ေက်းလက္ျပည္သူတို႔ဘဝ လံုျခံဳမႈကင္းမဲ့လာပါတယ္။ ဖက္ဆစ္ေလ့က်င့္ေပးထားတဲ့ စစ္ေခါင္းေဆာင္ေတြကလည္း စစ္မတိုက္တတ္တာေၾကာင့္ မေလး႐ွား၊ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံေတြက "ပ႐ို"စစ္တပ္ေတြလို ေသာင္းၾကမ္းမႈကို အျမစ္ျပတ္ေအာင္ မတိုက္ႏိုင္တာျဖစ္လို႔၊ ေက်းလက္ျပည္သူေတြဟာ ၿမိဳ႕ကို လာေရာက္ခိုလွံဳၾကပါတယ္။ ဒီလိုေသာင္းၾကမ္းမႈေၾကာင့္ ေျပးလာတဲ့ ေက်းလက္ျပည္သူေတြဟာ ၿမိဳ႕တြင္းေျမကြက္လပ္ေတြမွာ၊ က်ဴးေက်ာ္တဲေတြ ေဆာက္လုပ္ေနထိုင္လာၾကပါတယ္။
