Loss of a Friend(Part-1 of 3)
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I was born in a small village beside the trunk road. Half a mile away from the trunk road, there was a larger village. Ko Moe Kyin was born in that village. He and I were contemporaries. We went to the same school for one year. Then, I changed school. But we met from time to time.
We were a farming family. His father was a trader. He bought paddy, milled it and sold the rice to consumers in detail. He also sold by bags. As was usual in those days in these areas his father would buy from us one cartful of paddy - that means 25 baskets. We agree to the price. We take 25 baskets of paddy in our own bullock cart and dump it at the rice mill half-a-mile away. Rice mill clerk gives a receipt. That receipt is given to the paddy buyer. He goes to the rice mill and claims the rice, broken rice and bran.
Money? It is not the problem. He will come tomorrow or day after tomorrow. We are not new. We have known each other for a long time; our two families were in contact before I or my friend Ko Moe Kyin were born.
