---- N14 Pulsar Project - Front Bar Mod ----

in #cars8 years ago

Moving forward with the N14 Pulsar Project we come to the front bar. While it may be a simple design, the front bar has the makings of a decent looking front end , it just needs a little help getting “on the level”. What this means is that we are going to be cutting and grinding into the front bumper bar to make it look better, more sporty and to be more effective in gaining some more performance by increasing air flow to the filter 😉

We can see the front bar has some natural lines which can be followed when grinding away sections. The main central hole in the bumper is of decent size, however there is some plastics in the way of this section. We will cut this away to allow more air flow through the front to the radiator. A byproduct of this is that the front will look considerably more aggressive. On either side of the bumper there are blanked out sections, in the SSS model this section is use for fog lights. We will cut away these sections and allow some air flow to the pod filter, this will also give the “ram” effect and allow the induction noise to be a bit louder.

Disclaimer: The RAM effect not massive power gain. It involves an intake design which uses the dynamic air pressure created by vehicle motion to increase air pressure inside the intake manifold, this allows a greater mass flow through the engine increasing engine power. But something is better than nothing right ?

Before mounting the front bumper bar back up to the car a coat of mat black is used on the chassis, this is to darken the areas which can now be seen through the front bumper. There are some areas which need to be tidied up. Mesh will be used to cover the holes, some flat plates on the sides of the central hole, a front lip may be in store for the future.

All in all coming together quite well and will hopefully be living life to its full potential on da streets very soon ;)

Sweet whip. I'm also into the Nissans. My girl is still in winter storage though. With the kids I don't get much time to drive it. I hope to get it out for a bit this year.
