There are fears out there about what will happen now that xyz is going on.

We must remember and stick to the truth that decentralization means that the burden of work does not lay solely on one person, or team. It lays on everyone who is a blockchain user.

But who will take care of blockchain development?

We will. Every time someone takes the initiative to come up with a new game like Splinterlands, Drugwars, HolyBread, STEEM City, or many of the other unnamed ones, they are developing the blockchain. Every time we log onto those games and invest our time or money, we are helping them develop.

Every time someone takes a chance and builds a new token (BroToken is the last on I saw), they are developing the blockchain. Every time you spend your STEEM to support that token, you are helping.

What if we lose all of the support of exchanges?

Other exchanges will step up. And, if they won't we must realize that exchanges are part of the centralization process, and we must come up with another solution to get people on board and buying/having steem. Maybe it will be through owning a LEO store. Maybe it will be through selling services. Maybe we will start buying and selling steem to our friends and family through paypal or in person. With so many of us using the blockchain, someone is bound to come up with a solution.

What if the price of steem tanks?

Most of us who are still here are scrappy and we don't care that we bought steem at 2.50USD because we probably bought some at 0.13USD as well. We will buy more steem at lower prices and be happy about it. Why?

Because steem is HUGE, and we have shown that it is more decentralized than a billionaire can handle.

Imagine if a billionaire wanted to buy my Condo Complex. Do you know how fast me and my neighbors would sell? We would not care WHAT he was turning this place into, we would care about our bottom line. So what if I spent $$ on decorating, so what if there is a nice garden nearby, so what if my kids are friends with the other kids here in the complex. Give me the right $$$ and I am outta here.

That did not happen here because the people here have been building when steem was down to 0.12USD and many have been here since it was 0.07USD. Those of us plugging away are not here for the money, we are here for the idea of what decentralization offers. We didn't even wait to see how much tron was offering for our steem. We said: "Fuck it, I ain't MOVING."

So. Stop fretting, and know, that you are in with a scrappy team who is here for the LONG RUN.

I can wait 10 years to see a profit. I can invest at low prices for another while.

Can you?
