Sharing ; 5 things i learned when i unemployment.

Good evening Steemian,
Tonight I would like to share some of my experience. After I graduated from college, I did not get a job for almost a year. Many times the job application that I sent was rejected until the disappointment became ordinary I felt. At that moment, I kept asking myself: what would happen to my life? My life is full of pressure and frustration, a period that tests my faith in God.

But as I look back on everything I went through, I realized that it was a year that helped me grow and full of the unexpected blessings that I really needed in my life.

Here are five lessons I learned during those times, which may help you if you face of a similar situation:

  1. I am more looking for God. Often, I feel the conversation between me and God goes one way. Why does it seem that other people find it easier to get a job? Are they better than me? Why am I always unlucky? However, it was precisely because of the difficulties I faced that I prayed more and tried harder. When I felt desperate and desperately needed God, I was really looking for Him. During college, I did not really provide a special time for God or thought to serve Him. The priority of my life is to be a successful person; all my attention and effort are on to achieve that goal. One year of unemployment is very heavy, but it is a reminder that I need to re-realize for whom I live my life.

  2. I learned to surrender my life to God. I love making plans in life, setting targets to achieve, taking control of my life. Satisfied it was when things went well. However, when my plan doesn't work, I feel very devastated. I can imagine how it feels when I have to assume status as "unemployed" and have no control over my life. I feel very depressed and embarrassed, wanting to hide from my family and friends. It took me about a year before I finally learned to surrender and let God take control of my life. I am grateful I finally decided to surrender to God, because as soon as I did, I no longer felt alone, I stopped blaming myself, and finally go on with my life.

  3. I got a lot of surprises from God. After about a half year's unemployment, I was invited to participate in Sunday School services at my church. Honestly, I was never interested in anything related to children. However, because of unemployment, I'm willing to try it. Unexpectedly, teaching Sunday School was very enjoyable. I do my best to prepare teaching materials and activities for the children in class. The teaching time of every Sunday becomes the time I've been waiting for. Have I been so busy with my dreams of success that I've missed all this? Most likely I would never get involved in church if I immediately found work after college. But God knows me, and has a different plan for me.

  4. I have a new perspective on life. As I begin to commit myself to God's arrangements, I learn to live life with a new perspective. Gradually, I began to stop worrying about what other people thought about me. And even though my job application is still being rejected, I no longer feel too depressed. My priority now is to build relationships with others, spend time reading the Bible, talking to God, and serving in Sunday School. Although my life does not go according to what I want, I feel satisfied, calm, and grateful. God provides all my needs in different ways.

  5. I learned to be grateful for difficult times. Being unemployed for a year taught me to be joyful and grateful when I was a failure. I am also grateful for the challenge and the formation of God who brought me closer to Him.

Reflecting on the times I spent without a full-time job, I was amazed at how God had taken care of me, step by step on my journey. Even though I can not see clearly His plan for my future, I believe and believe that He will continue to nurture me. In prayer, I ask God to help me not to forget all these lessons, even after I get a regular job.

That's a little experience from me, i hope it can be useful for all of you my Steemian, thank you.
