Look At The Veggies I Harvested From My Container Garden! - 2019
Hello dear Steemians!
Let me share the produce of my little container garden on the top of the house... that is the venue of my container gardening each season.. It is a box terrace of about 9 sqm surface. This year, I planted the usual ones like the cherry tomatoes, aubergines, cukes, bell pepper, strawberries, lettuce, young onions and raspberries.
The tomatoes you are seeing here were the ones I harvested when I came back from vacation. They are quite ripe because they stayed longer hanging in the branches while I was away in the hottest summer month of July. This was the 3rd lot of my harvest since I I harvested two times already. What I did was to grill them in the oven, filled the jar with olive oiland stored in the fridge. They could last up to three days as toppings for sandwiches or as by-dish to any grilled meat or fish.
You can find the recipe of my Roasted Garlic Cherry Tomatoes here
The aubergine or eggplant is a mainstay in my container garden. It is one of my favorite veggies. In fact, I have a special recipe from my Dad and I will do a separate post on it here.
This year I ´ve had green and orange peppers, just for a trial and I wanted to find out how they tasted compared to the sweet red ones. It was not that sweet but I like its crispy-ness.
Wow! You were very successful, especially considering the amount of time you were away early in the season! You did great!
Yes my dear, I only planted two tomatoes since I knew I was travelling. I´ve had 2 plants this season. Thanks Melinda dear.
