Beers to many more cheers!
In recent days, it has been hard to meet and interact with family, friends, and colleagues because of the covid-19 pandemic.
Most of us were forced to stay at home for months to avoid contracting the virus and putting it under control.
In my city, there was restricted movement, and no one was allowed to be outside at night.
As a result, most restaurants and bars were closed. Only businesses offering essential services like hospitals and supermarkets were allowed to operate.
To be honest, I had missed going out, hanging around my friends, and having a good time.Fortunately, the covid-19 restrictions were loosened because the covid-19 positive cases started reducing.
Most restaurants and bars re-opened and started operating. However, movement in and outside the city was still restricted,
but movement within the city was allowed during the day.
I have friends and a workmate who lives on the other side of the city.
We arranged to meet and hang out because it had been so long. We met in our favorite bar.
We were so excited to see each other that we forgot to keep our social distance.
Before we ordered some drinks, we decided to eat first. Each one of us ordered our favorite meal.
We ate while talking about the whole Covid-19 situation and how it has stopped our lives. one of my friends was supposed to get married,
in January 2020 but the wedding was put on hold because the fiancé was locked in another country.
After eating, we all went and sat at the bar counter and ordered a beer. Our conversation never stopped; seems like we had so much to say to each other.
Sadly, our meeting was cut short, and we were forced to go home because of the curfew rules. However, we all had so much fun and promised to do it again soon.
On my way home, I was all smiling and happy. I finally got the chance to do something else apart from staying in the house.
