City Stray's Wish
Through roaring streets and flashing lights,
A lone cat roams the sleepless nights.
Footsteps echo, horns do wail,
Wind-tossed fur and tattered tail.
Perched on rooftops, gazing far,
Past the blur of every car.
Dreaming soft of quiet streams,
Of sunlit naps and meadow dreams.
Yet in the city's heart so wide,
A gentle hand, a place to hide.
Purring low, at last set free—
Peace was love, and love found me.
