Bitcoin on the New York Stock Exchange

The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) plans to introduce trade opportunities through five different ETFs based on the bitcoin index.

The NYSE has already sent a form to the US Securities and Exchange Commission for permission to trade in this type of instrument.

If the committee welcomes NYSE's application, it will provide its clients with the opportunity to trade in leveraged ETFs based on a bitcoin rate, providing 125, 150 and 200 percent of daily returns, respectively. The exchange offer will also include funds based on the reverse of the BTC exchange rate - the decline in the cryptocurrency rate will in this case result in an increase in the value of the given ETF.

In December of last year, similar types of contracts were introduced by two stock exchanges: CBOE and CME. Their offer is addressed primarily to institutional clients. The proposal of the New York Stock Exchange would give the opportunity to invest in Bitcoin-based financial instruments to a wider group of individual investors from around the world.
