Here comes the Fan Boys

in #cryptocurrency5 years ago

I should start by saying that I have no dog in this fight, meaning that, I don't particularly want for Ripple to fail, because at the end of the day, people will use what they want. However, it's undeniable at this point that most of that project is shady to say the least.

The bigger problem to me however, is that if you even dare to question Ripple, a horde of Ripple Fanboys will attack you, call you names, and in some extreme cases even make threats, which to me shows us the ugliest side of our tribalistic nature. But, how can they look at reports like this one and not understand why there are skeptics speaking up.

The Market Cap

Is not the only metric that determines the success of a currency, of course not, but its no doubt one that we default to look at every day. The way it's calculated is very simple, you multiply the amount of circulating tokens by the value each one. This, in theory, would give you the liquidity of the network in a very raw sense, but of course in practice it's a whole different story.

According to this report, Ripple's Market Cap might be overstated by 6.1 Billion dollars. The report breaks it down, it explains the methodology and after reading it carefully, I have to say that it looks pretty bad for XRP.

Of course they answered, of course they reacted but their response is lacking, but don't believe me, read for yourselves.

It's possible that just by posting this someone will insult me too, but that's ok. Some people just like to be offended about everything.

Chico crypto has an interesting video if you search XRP. I can't assure you the accuracy of the video, but at least 2 things are clear to me. XRP has a shady background story and the second thing is that Roger Ver is involved in way more projects in crypto than Bitcoin Cash and was a very early investor in XRP.

Yeah i read this article according to them some of the token they have which is locked for some period and which cannot be calculate a market capital so if this article will be right LITE coin will be upperside as compare to RIPPLE.

I see Ripple the organization (not XRP) as a bridge to the gap that exists today between traditional centralized monetary systems and the future decentralized one. If it takes them to be successful by entangling their technology to existing banks, so be it. At the end it should result in improved adoption and trust in the technology. BTW, I have no interest or holdings in XRP.

Don't you just love (what I like to call them) the diehard 'CRYPTO-TRIBES' that stick with their big investments no matter what shady, behind the scenes shenanigans go on?
I traded my Ripple for Bitshares, which is my diehard CRYPTO-TRIBE now!
Interesting post my friend.
Thanks

Decentralized, premised, institution owned bullshit. The fanboys are just dabbling in crypto , only daring to dip their toe in the water based on the weak notion that institutionally backed crypto is best.

I swing trade it for profit I put into real crypto. Feels so good to sell high and gtfo.

XRP has the worst community of all time. They are the lackeys of the old paradigm. Their greed and delusion can not be outmatched.
