I don't understand the need to view it as a competition. Blockchain is helping Facebook. Facebook will help blockchain. Literally everybody wins in this scenario.
The banks are quaking in their boots asking for this to all slow down. They are the real losers. That's where the competition is.
You make some interesting points, I mean if libra allows developers to create products on Libra smart contracts and test them at scale by leveraging FB's network we could see more rapid development. Instead of working in the shadows code can be put to good use and hopefully remain open source so that other projects can benefit from it
Libra is just another stable coin like USDT and PAX. It only boost Bitcoin and XRP to new ATH. However, it might affect ethereum since it is capable of governing Smart contract.
According to me there is no competition between libra ab1d BTC because libra is stable and BTC is tradable. And libra is more centralized then BTC so it's different project both the end.
Unlike libra Bitcoin is a true cryptocurrency, is pseudo-anonymous and most importantly decentralized. I think libra will have its place but is no threat to Bitcoin, if anything it will help Bitcoin become more mainstream.
Who can tell me what is the intrinsic value of the coins that will make up Libra's basket?
For example, the Euro: is the intrinsic value given by the number of people who succeed in enslaving, thanks to its system of issuing an eternal and inextinguishable debt? And/or what else?

Obviously people are not gonna trust libra that easily given all the things that FB has done to get into people's houses!

Excellent review @meno and I hope that the new Facebook coin will not be able to harm Bitcoin and the rest of the coins!
