People who are on welfare in the US have more luxuries than the average middle class person in most places in the world. Appreciation for what you have and your life is the real growth.
We have so much opportunity in the US, don't piss it away. People wish they could have all the opportunity we have.
Seeing real poverty will take you back, but seeing the same people that are in poverty want nothing but a better life for their family and have a real appreciation for life is just amazing.
Most Americans are rich already, we just don't appreciate it.

Of course you can always say "Oh, it could be worse - look at North Korea." Well, unless you live in North Korea, that is.
However, with all the wealth you have in the USA (theoretically), is it neccessary that normal working class people have to work two jobs just to pay the rent? Or that students are in debt up to their neck when they graduate - without much chance to find a decent job matching their qualification? Or that there are more prison inmates per capita than almost anywhere else?
But everything is going great... according to the main stream media.
I compare America to "most places in the world" I not saying America is perfect. If you experience the rest of the world, you will understand where I come from. Appreciation is the key word.
I like America and people in america are awesome but If you see America in other way, you will find out it is a big company owned by corporations.

Agree with you. I've seen the sacrifices my parents made and I am in a better place. I could do better but I am content with being myself and not loosing who I am through ambition. Wish more people could be appreciative of what America stands for.
