My kids were here for the weekend and my daughter-in-law loves the old Victorian homes that are on Courthouse Hill in my town and we went on a picture taking tour yesterday.
I was busy taking pictures and was not paying attention to exactly which block we were on until I looked up and realized that several huge black Suburbans had converged around us and as we were busy taking pictures, they were taking pictures of us and our license plate.
Paul Ryan (Speaker of the United States House of Representatives) must have been home for the weekend, so we only took one photo of his house, waved at the Secret Service men, and went on our picture taking way!

He grew up here and has lived in that house for years....When he was running for VP they had the street barricaded, which made everyone who lives in that neighborhood a bit unhappy at the inconvenience. Before I moved into my current house, I lived a couple blocks away from him, and directly across the street from his mom's house. My grandson is in school with his kids. Small town stuff.
Wow....it is a small world....seriously. Do you know the family at all? He seems like nice people but it's hard to say unless you actually sit down with someone, you know ?
Some of the houses in this town are pretty amazing. I don't pay much attention when I see them all the time, but slowing down to take photos gives me a better appreciation!

No, I don't know him. Only stories from friends who do, most of whom think he is vile.

Or at least suspicious while taking photos from the car! It was too cold to spend much time outdoors. It is snowing AGAIN today.
