As some of you may know my goal for this week was to remain positive no matter what was thrown at me. In the last few weeks I've some rough times but this week I didn't want to let anything get me down.
A lot easier said than done but it actually worked out for me.

I'll start from where I left off. My boyfriend had gotten a job interview in Brisbane, my favourite city. So I decided to spend my last few dollars on getting a plane flight up there so I could go with him.

We had such a blast in Brisbane and it really brought back some childhood memories. We hired a car which was awesome as we got a Suzuki Swift (I've wanted to buy one of these for a while) so I finally got to drive one :) We drove around the city, through the city and then up to 'Mount Coot-tha' which had an amazing view of the city.

Whilst in Brisbane we had the opportunity to go to 'Ekka' - The Royal Queensland Show - filled with rides, amusements, and shows. It was a lot of fun and we had such a great time.

That night we ordered McDonalds to our hotel room whilst we watched a movie. Our view from our room was inspirational and simply gorgeous. The following day my boyfriend had his panel interview with Queensland Rail which he was very nervous about. Luckily it was first thing in the morning so he got it over and done with straight away and now we're just waiting to hear back. If he got the job it'd be amazing!!
Our flight was at 3pm so we had some time to kill. We decided to explore the city some more and go to the botanic gardens in the centre of the city. It was gorgeous and definitely a place I could see myself going to everyday!

Whilst we were sitting in the gardens at 31 degrees back in Melbourne it was raining and around 11 degrees.
I received a text whilst we were sitting there, it was from one of my recruitment agencies. There was a temping job available as a Medical Receptionist running for 6 - 8 weeks. It was perfect. Our holiday to America is in 9 weeks so this was just what I was looking for. I tried to call the phone number provided but unfortunately it didn't work so I decided to text the number back. I then received a call saying the position had been filled but they might have something else available. As she was looking at my resume she actually said I was better qualified for the Medical temping position then the person they had just hired. So she said she'd call me back within an hour. 30 minutes later I get a call saying that I've got the job and can I start tomorrow.. It all happened so fast it was crazy! I suddenly felt a wave of nerves and starting dreading tomorrow.

Since we lost track of time due to everything that was happening, we had to quickly get an Uber to the airport. We got there with 40 minutes to spare. We got a drink and headed for the gate.. little did we know our flight had been delayed. We didn't get on the flight until 30 minutes later and by that time I was seriously stressing that I wouldn't get home in time to prepare myself for the coming day.

When we landed it was freezing! I walked through an airport filled with people in jumpers and jeans whilst I wore a summer dress, I felt so out of place. Thankfully it didn't take us too long to find our way back to the car but due to a stuff up with the parking ticket we had to go the customer service centre before we left. Time was going so quickly. It took an hour to get home and from there it was all hands on deck. I'm the type of person who'll overthink, stress and freak myself out when it comes to starting a new job. I think it's the fear of the unknown.

My first day was OK. But I remained positive. It's a very complex job and a whole new system to learn - plus I have to answer phones which I don't really like doing. Since it was Friday I had the weekend to stress about it. I know the first week of a new job is always the worst but ahhhh I don't want to go back tomorrow. BUT I shall remain positive.

So, set yourself a goal this week. Something to work towards and think about. My goal for this week is to keep being positive and to not let my nerves defeat me!

I hope you've all had a great weekend and have an ever better week.

Until next time,
