GARBA... #9 Sketchbook project.
The word GARBA drove from the Sanskrit word 'Garbh' that implies the womb. Garba is one of the famous folk dance of colorful and traditional state Gujarat. But these days it has turned out to be extremely well known across the country. It is commended during the nine days of Navratri and it is performed before worshipping Goddess DURGA.
Gujarat people are very much keen in dance, and music. They celebrate every festival with full energy and excitement.
Both men and women wear very bright dresses during garba. The young ladies and women wear three-piece dress i.e. Ghagra, choli, and dupatta. Their dresses embellished with beads, mirrors, and embroidery. They likewise put beautiful jewelry comprised of jhumkas (large earrings), necklaces, bindi, bajubandh, payal, chudas, and kangans. While menfolks wear kafni pyjamas with a Ghagra and a short round kurta. They additionally tie bandhani duppattas on their heads.
There is an enormous enthusiasm for garba among the youth of India and particularly in the Gujarati diaspora. Everybody performs Garba in a major circle and dances on the beats of the drums and dholl.
Prior Garba was a part of each nook and corner of the street, however today it has turned into a glam event loaded with the best in fashion, food, events, and dance.
