Wholemeal Chilli, Chia and Olive Bread

It's a veritable meal in itself!!

What can I say, this will fill you up and keep you that way for ages!!! And the health, jings! What magical health benefits to be had from the chia seeds and the wholemeal. Not to mention the excellent pipe cleaning effects of scotch bonnet chillis!! Let's get stuck in!!

You will need

250 grams of wholemeal flour
250 grams of strong white flour
2 teaspoons of quick acting yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
A handful of black olives
A tablespoon of chia seeds
A heaped teaspoon of chilli paste - I use my own hot lava paste,(https://steemit.com/recipes/@meesterboom/hot-lava-chilli-paste) ;0)

To make

Measure out your flours, yeast and salt into a large mixing bowl

Slice your olives and bang then in with your chilli paste

Add your water to your flour and mix it all together into a cheeky lump

Cover and let it rise for an hour

Line a pan that's roughly the size of the iron pot you will be baking the bread in with greaseproof paper and spill your dough into it.
We can't really knead it or we would break up them lovely olives!!

Get your oven on at 200 degrees! And put your iron cooking pot in with lid

Once your oven is hot enough take your iron pot out, careful now it will be insanely hot! Take off the lid and transfer the dough from one to the other using the edges of the greaseproof paper. Cut the dough in a couple of slashes with scissors. It's too hard to slash with a knife when in a smouldering iron pot

Bang the lid on and ram the pot back in the oven

20 minutes later take the lid off the pot

20 minutes after that take your bad boy out of the oven and cool on a rack!!!

When cooled slice and chomp this chia, chilli & olive joy!!!

I love chia seeds! This reminds me to stock up on them while I'm in Europe! Hard to find in Cambodia. Chia bread added to the to try list! Thanks for sharing!
