Mad Goose and Bready Beers
It's Beer Saturday! The sun has been shining all week creating quite a thirst in me.
I think this week is going to be good. Mad Goose beer!! When I saw that in the shop today I knew it was fate. I hear destiny!!! And destiny is called...
Let's pour! Good head, nice copper colour. It's not mad at all. In fact it is rather delightful. Very smooth yet malty. I like this muchly. It's only 4.2% alcohol so it looks like however mad the label may claim to be this particular goose ain't gonna get mad on it!
Mmmm, still smacking my lips when I get to the bottom. What's next up?
What an excellent bottle! It's a bit of a weird one. I quite like it at first but the strength of it. (8.5%) ruins the taste as you get further down the glass. I do like the bottle but it's not a beer I will be running back to. Crikey, I am glad it's only 330 mls.
Amy more of that and things might get a bit fighty. Phew. Let's move onto beers with less danger.
Made with bread? Bread? Will I need to strain it out? Are there croutons in it? Hmm. How very peculiar.
But peculiar awesome. This is lovely. A fantastic, smooth, amber and delicious beer! It's got bags of character, malty and oaty. I love it. I think this beer is the star of the week! Thankfully I get two of each one. ;0) Even better the blurb on the back of the bottle says.
Toast is brewed with unsold loaves from bakeries and unused crusts from sandwich makers. All profits go to charity
Charidee for getting me legless! That's fantastic! Hurrah!
Cor, I feel sorry for the next beer competing with that!
Now I am as Scottish as they come but what the funk? Beer brewed with spruce and pine? What next, beer brewed with Highland rocks?
But hey, how could I doubt it? It is awesome, you can really taste the pine!! It is quite wheaty also. I think it is lovely, you could think it a little astringent like the wine Retsina also brewed with pine but I love that as well.
It makes me want to get outside and feel the Scottish winds blowing down from the hills!!
I must away to the mountains and climb a pine tree!! Someone tell my mother!!!
Raaaaaaaaarrr!!! Cheers everyone, have a great weekend!!!!
Cheers Mate, some great beers you managed to find again. Here I started the evening with an Indian premium called 'Kingfisher'. Had it with diner outside. Ravioli, and this refreshing beer really goes down well with Italian food and summer weather.
Have a great weekend!
Kingfisher, Indian Ptemium lager beer
A big ole cheers to you mate! I have that beer fairly regularly. Its really nice isn't it!
easy on the beer!
they really got funny names there!
They have got funny names and they are getting funnier!!
but cute!
Oh yeah, and awesome! :0D
Thanks! :-) Was the first time I had this one and it went down very lightb and smooth. Really enjoyed it. Very nice indeed!
I hope you have it many more times!! It's the one that all the Indian restaurants stock here so I always have it with a curry but I bet it was nice with the ravioli too!
Still have one left in the cooler, together with some Golden Dragon (aged in whiskey oak barrels), Leffe Tripple and Affligem Double, not necessarily all to be drunken this evening, hahaha. (Although it is very thirsty weather over here...)
Think I'll keep that Kingsfisher for diner, we have no Indian restaurants here, so I'll have to make my own curry, but this one works fine with a lot of different kinds of food I guess.
Yeah, it is I've of those beers that just works great with food.
That is quite the selection!! I am tempted to go a bit too far on the beers as it is very hot and a great night too sit out! But good sense will prevail :0)
It is a bitter sweet temptation with the weather the outside, the sunday to follow, I can imagine. =D
Will start off with affligem. And see if there is more thirst, hahaha.
Have a great evening mate!
Cheers!

It is so tempting isn't it! That is a fine looking trio. I am sure you will have fun whatever you decide. And me too!!
Hurrah for the weekend! :0)
oaldams, I like that glass a lot - one of our house guests says he likes drinking beer out of that
That one is great for drinking beer/ pils indeed Ivy. For special brews I have also more bowl formed glasses. Many, older, breweries have specially designed drinking glasses. Often considered collectors items. The glass you like is often used in restaurants and pubs around here.
yes I noticed
it somehow gives the orange juice a distinct taste I like
i only have one now though - the new dishwasher broke the others :D
its always something else never me wahahha
Good thing broken glass is good for luck, hahaha.
is it?
1st time I've ever heard of that
Yes it is.
{NL} Scherven brengen geluk.
oh .. dan meer kapot maken hahah
graapje
One of the Indian restaurants we frequent serves Kingfisher! No where in town serves it! I have become quite the fan!!
It is very nice to drink at diner. Works nicely with spicy foods. Sure am going to enjoy it more often!
Yeah! There is nothing better than some spicy Indian curry!
=D
Hey @meesterboom, love your beer hobby! I so much love trying different beers. I became very partial to Guinness during my recent trip to Ireland!
Cheers @kus-knee!! Guinness is great isn't it!! Of course you were in the very home of it too. People, including myself always think it tastes nicer in Ireland!
:)) this is a nice selection. Of course, none available here...
But that bread beer got me interested! I mean..it's like drinking for charity...that's not a bad deal at all.
Can't look too much at that gif or i'll feel just as drunk :))
It's a great idea. I only hope it doesn't lead to me becoming a drunken vagabond in t he name of charity!
It was defo a lovely beer to try. I am torn between it and the piney pine one.
Lol, it was all I could do to stand still and turn! hehe
Excellent post dear friend @meesterboom we have come to another beer Saturday, good

Thank you very much for sharing this information
have a good weekend
Yayay!! Cheers to you too @jlufer! I hope you have a smashing weekend!
Cheers mate... am green with envy right now... such great variety of beers and ales. The toast pale ale sounds yucky though
I thought it sounded yucky. Absolutely did but it was excellent. No soggy bread in sight! Cheers!
Man can you imagine this becoming your day time job :). I am sure you will need additional testers soon...me me me! Jumps up and down. Fantastic beers. The bread beer looks super nice!
The bread beer was king!! If ever I had the good fortune for this to be a job you would be first on the list!!! :0D
I love the simplicity of the toast label!! I can safely safe I have never had a scots pine ale before!
Toast, Yeah at first it put me off but then it grew on me!! As did the beer!!
The pine ale was great, possibly an aquired taste!!
Sounds like you need to put the bottles down you have had enough :)
Lol, wait till about half nine. I will be off my chump!
Bless your poor Mrs
It is tougher for her now that she is preggers and cant join in lol
You should be more thoughtful and do without until she can tut tut
It's funny you should say that but I did offer. She thought that would be nuts though and insisted I didn't :O) Hooray for cool women!
You are such a lucky man, bless her
I know! I mean dont get me wrong. I tried a few out for size but I am glad I settled down with this one :OD
I've only had the delirium.
Did you like it? I thought it was ok but as it went on I was like meeh.
The bottle was memorable. That's about it. I can't recall anything about it.
Yep, I drank it tonight and that's pretty much the impression I have. The bottle is as cool as fuck but the insides. pff
Cheers here its still rain so i will take a wine !
I do like a wine myself! Cheers to the wine and the beer and the summer rain or no!
