Heart & Soul and Doggie Style Beers!

Saturday again and by any reckoning that means it's beer o'clock!!

So what's on the menu this fine summers evening? Well, being an eclectic soul I have trotted round the globe this week. We have Japan, the USA and of course the UK! Don't worry Europe. Next week I shall ride my golden hopped chariot your way.

So first up, let's head West!!

What a lovely chap! From the Anchor brewery in the US which claims to be Amurca's first craft brewery... Is it? I shall let you chaps tell me! It's pleasant, goes down rather easily and had a nice bitterness with little aftertaste. I had hoped for a little more meat to it. But hey ho, pleasant enough.

Hmm, that's whet my whistle finely. What's next?

Doggie style, that conjures up all sorts of images but perhaps not ones that fit best in a glass.

This is a strange one alright. I am no stranger to pouring a beer but this one frothed up like a sailor in a brothel. Ridiculous!

I mean look at the head on that? What the fuck, am I in Ibiza already? Is this a foam party? Where are my lightsticks?

There is no getting round this one, it's just not that great. When someone says to me, you fancy some doggie style? I expect great things but this? It's just damp lager. Like a leopard is pissing in my mouth.

Swiftly moving on. Gahhk.

Ah, that's better. This one does have heart and soul just like it claims. It's a velvety beast with fruity hints underlying the hops. I have to drink two of these to remove the foul doggieness of the last one from my face.

It's no Salty Kiss aka last week but it is smashing. This is one I will be buying more of.

And finally we have... JAPAN!!!

I look at this one owlishly, or hang on, is it looking at me owlishly? There is an owl on the bottle that's for sure. I think I am a bit pished.

This is a white beer brewed by the Kiuchi brewery. It's an amazing white beer. Like someone has slapped me on the face with a citrusy glove and challenged me to a beer duel. I am enjoying it very much and the night is still young.

Who knows, a couple more of these and I might find myself in the park carousing with the rapscallions of the night!!
