Are you tired of making things with that same old thermoplastic resin? Do you have your own printer and want to print with ceramic and porcelain ... even with food?

Well soon you can, with this Ceramic 3D printing kit from Stoneflower.

Obviously you can print vases with it, although you might be a little vased-out from all the traditional 3d printed vases being sold on etsy. Just think what you could make with FOOD!

As you may not know, I'm a big 3d fan. I even made 3d graphics animation and computer vision my track when I was getting my B.S. in computer science. Seriously! But enough about me, back to this fantastic gushy stuff:

The clay, I mean. Why ceramic, you ask?

Answers the website:
"Ceramics and porcelain are perfect materials for the everyday use: durable, food-safe, heat-resistant, mechanically strong, and sustainable . Ceramics are suitable for both prototyping in architecture and for small serial production in design, the arts and crafts. An unburnt ceramic model, a so-called "green object", is reusable and can be processed like normal clay. You can correct, modify, and customize the fresh prints as you wish. Burn the green objects in a kiln to transform them into regular food-safe ceramics."

Of course you can make much cooler stuff than just food containers -- look at this tactile detail.

For those of you who don't know how FDM works, I included a screenshot of the extruder in action (and proof that I actually viewed the video for this product hunt instead of just pasting a link).

The basic kit comes with the Micro Printing Set:

The Micro Printing Set lets you deposit, dispense or print using small volumes of materials such as glaze, paint, metal clay, soldering paste etc. The set is equipped with mounts for 60ml syringes. To use smaller syringes, we will provide the STL and OBJ files for appropriate mounts on our website.

The Micro Printing Set includes
•3 disposable syringes (60ml)
•Special brackets
•4 Nozzles of diameters 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2mm, nozzle adapter, tiny pipe

No you can't use this to print a concrete home. Yet. But this Ceramic 3D Printing Kit was designed by professional engineers for production and assembly in Germany, so you can expect a solidly-engineered product. Not to say that a bunch of American robotics undergrads can't deliver a dope product through Kickstarter.

Pros:

Engineered in a way that clay printing can be reproducible.
Clever, robust precise and easy printing for a desktop 3D printer.
Uses both ceramics and porcelain materials.
Ability to use a lot of different liquids and pastes such as glaze, metal clay, soldering paste, etc. And you can even use food for that matter!
It has the ability to modify or customize the prints as you wish when they are fresh.
Burned objects glazed and then burning them again can make the objects colorful, waterproof and also give them a nice finish.
Universal
Easy to assemble and disassemble.

Cons :

Nothing apart from the price of the product.

wow, that's kinda incredible. lovely written post and layout. thank you for your effort, lovely.
