The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust symbol SPY . The SPDR S&P 500 trust is an exchange-traded fund which trades on the NYSE Arca under the symbol. SPDR is an acronym for the Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts, the former name of the ETF. It is designed to track the S&P 500 stock market index. Wikipedia

nice . could you tell me what is the cost for trade (round-turn in SPY) in % ?

airmike the cost for trade (round-turn in SPY) in % would depend on the number of shares you trade . The cost to trade in and out of a position at scottrade is $ 7.00 per side that's $14.00 round trip to trade spy . That is for 1 share 0r 10,000 shares the cost per trade is the same . You can also trade the symbol sso and that moves 2 times the S&P for the same cost per trade . So if you were trading SSO the % profit would be 23.28 % double the SPY profit . Trading is a very risky and emotional business and should only be done with money you are willing to lose . It's reported that over 90% of traders lose money . One must be extremely disciplined to trade a system because you may get several losses in a row and then it becomes very hard to make the next trade . And you also know that the system possibly could be falling apart .
