Standing?

Ok the other day I am in the Airport waiting for my travel partner to get thru security. I know I am going to be sitting on the plane for hours so I decide to stand for a while to wait for them.

I purposely move out of the flow of traffic, I am just standing still waiting...

My question is this why do people walk right at me so I have to move??

Since you are moving can't you look up, see me and move to one side or the other and walk around! The looks on faces like I am making there life harder by standing there!
