Recall the Balance

You may think it’s strange, but life wasn’t always like it is today. You probably don’t remember but there used to be a balance of the silly and the serious, of laughs and tears, of action and reaction. I’m writing to you now, because I was warned long ago, that as we grow up, we lose ourselves. Our true selves. I was warned then, now I’m warning you; a life of dejection and sorrow is what becomes of life with a lost dream. And as I said, you may think this is strange, that you must be reminded. But I’m talking of a time where you first found yourself, and loved that person, a time where you promised you wouldn’t let them go. Do you remember? Years have passed, since you declared your power and created your motivation. Walked among people who seemed different from you, to the eyes and ears, but were all one at heart. But these mere acquaintances were all walking the same path, toward the same dream, of the same equal world. Do you remember? Now, I’m afraid you might’ve been led astray. There may have been an abrupt dip in the path, a bump in the road, or a fork somewhere; you might’ve been tempted with power, or money, or a quick fix, because the easy way was always the most charming. But like the tale of the time I tell you now, there never was and never will be. Just as there wasn’t an easy way when you broke the board of change, and screamed your insecurities on the top of your lungs. And at first that was strange. But it changed your being, and strengthened your soul. Do you remember? In that land, that was seemed so close and so far, the sounds of the bugs and the leaves and the wind and the water. All sounds that were very familiar, but altered your senses and expanded your mind. A time where extreme power was felt just while walking through an earth village, and a 300 year old tree was so spirited, that it’s energy moved through your hands and heart. And in those moments, you knew your purpose in the world. Do you know it now? I can tell you that it is a purpose driven by love and strength, by unity and equality; A purpose composed of a balance between the silly and the serious, of laughs and tears, of action and reaction.
