Happy new year steemains, Been a while here, I’ve been less active due to some technical issue but I’m back now.
I'd been looking forward to reaching 1,000 SP, and today I did so. It's a joy to behold. While browsing the blockchain, I came across this contest post in the promo steem community hosted by @ misharif, who wants people to perform a power up this year and make it distinctive. I opted to power up 150 steem today, and as a result, I hit 1K SP. Before, during, and after the power up, I'll expose my wallet.

Benefits Of Power Up
According to the time I've spent on Steemit and what I've learned from my achievements task, some of the benefits of powering up include:
Some communities, such as steemit crypto academy , will not let you join until you have a particular amount of SP, therefore powering up will allow you to join other communities and study.
Users with SP can also delegate to a community, which will aid in the growth of the community because the more SP power a community has, the more impact it has. When SP is also assigned, the community makes use of it by voting on beginner posts, thereby assisting them in their development.
When a user power up, he/she can also delegate SP to other users to help them grow.
Power up directly affects them; the more SP you have, the more influence you have on steemit. Your votes have more weight than those of someone with a lower SP.
You can control your voting power on a post if you have up to 500 SP.
- Powering up also contributes to the development of a stable steemit ecosystem. When more is withdrawn from a system (power down) than it generates or is provided to it (power up), the system crashes, hence power up aids in the maintenance or sustainability of a stable steemit ecosystem.
