Kabul’s deadly Ramadan blast

The face of inhumanity may have not been elevated higher after the scenes from Wednesday morning blast in Kabul went viral on the international news broadcasts. In as much as there is no group that has come out yet to claim the psychotic victory, it just a matter of time before the Taliban or the Islamic State group come into claim.

The massive explosion believed to have been orchestrated from a suicide car bombing was so severe that its ripple effect spanned a radius of about half a mile.

Apart from an instant destruction of more than thirty vehicles and building within the perceived most secure and safest place in Afghan’s capital, the most serious part is the lives lost and casualties raised from the blast.

With a casualty numbers soaring at over 350 people and an approximation of 80 deaths amidst the heavy security, there is definitely no place safe in the society unless terrorism is cured.

If anything, it would have been expected that the month of Ramadan would have played humbleness and mercy in the hear of the destroyers but apparently it is not the case. With a similar intensity as anyone else, the shock on the kind of barbarism must have tingled the religious confidence of Afghanistan president as was evident in his speech.

In his condemnation of the actions, President Ashraf Ghani said “the terrorists, even in the holy month of Ramadan, the month of goodness, blessing and prayer, are not stopping the killing of our innocent people.”
