We inhale 10 billion a dispute of mushrooms daily, but we don't die. How does it work?
The wet and warm medium in lungs of the person perfectly is suitable for reproduction of funguses, and those learned to move into there long ago. Every day the person inhales from 1000 to 10 billion spores, but instead of waging with them ruthless war, our immune system gracefully forces spores to make a suicide. Alas, this unique mechanism even more often began to glitch and scientists try to understand what can be made with it.
As a survivor of a MASSIVE fungal infection that nearly killed me I can say this: Do not take fungi lightly! It took about 2 years to correctly diagnose (bless you, oncology-nurse-with-no-name who sent my blood to be tested for ... fungi!), as apparently it is more profitable to do exploratory surgery to find the "cancer". Yeah, an oncologist oversaw my treatment and if you're a hammer...
Bottom line is this: I Lost an estimated 70% of my lung capacity. It will never come back. Thanks for posting this. Upvoted and resteemed.
