Scientists of the University of California have found a way to prolong life of a female of a fly drosophila (a fruit midge) by 20% by manipulations with the so-called "cellular time machine". Mitochondrions – the structures of cages about 1 in size a micrometer which are responsible for energy development became an object of their researches.

Fascinating! It will be interesting to see where these experiments lead. I only hope that if humans can benefit at some point, it won't be available only to the filthy rich..... Wishful thinking, I know.
