Desktop Metal promises to make 3D - the press metal 100 times faster and 10 times cheaper
Representatives of Desktop Metal claim that they managed to reach the speed of production of metal products in 8,1 thousand cc an hour, for difficult three-dimensional products. Quicker, than forging, casting, stamping or milling, with a margin error no more than 50 microns. The cost of the industrial 3D-printer keeps within limits of $360 000, it uses raw materials 20 times cheaper, than laser analogs. And a risk minimum for the environment – if at least a quarter from stated — the truth, then mankind really wait for very serious changes.
3D printers are such an amazing development! The fact that you can make houses and now 3D printed metals is astounding and I can't wait until this technology becomes more widely accessible. Thanks for sharing this inspiring article, it's given me the impetus to write an essay about our changing world and the role tech can play in it.
Hi, i gathered a list of Steemit users posting about 3d printing, and currently inviting 100+ Thingiverse users (3d printing community) a day to join me on Steemit.
Steemit and 3d model makers and 3d printing enthusiasts is a very interesting combination.
