Splinterlands - Opensea Experience (For Beginners)

This post encompasses the process of transferring a card from Steemmonsters to Opensea and selling it on the Opensea platform. I did this post because it seemed to be difficult to find a post that encompasses all the steps to selling and buying cards on Opensea.

Steemmonsters setting up ETH

Within the game click on your id name to get a drop down menu and select link external wallet.

You will need your own ETH wallet prior so that you can link it to steemmonsters. I have used Metamask which is free and can hold multiple ETH tokens. Copy your ETH wallet address into the Steemmonster ETH wallet box. A ETH wallet address typical starts with 0x....

Once that is done correctly the next step is to verify your ETH wallet link. For users of Metamask they will see this notification:

Click "connect" and now Metamask is linked to Steemmonsters! To confirm go back to Steemmonsters and you should have this message:

On Opensea you will have to do a similar process of linking the same ETH wallet address onto Opensea. The process is identical and once completed this is the how the Opensea account page will look like:

Go back to Steemmonsters and select cards to put into Opensea. I am doing this for the first time so not taking any risk. I will send a common reward card for my test run.

Wait for a couple minutes and the card is now seen on Opensea. (Note it does not seem it takes any ETH gas to transfer card from Steemmonsters to Opensea.)

I went and posted the card for sell on Opensea! There is a 2.5% fee on Opensea for card sale and because this was my first post I had to wait for Opensea to do some type of ETH gas exchange to validate the sale post. I now just sit and wait for someone to hopefully buy my card ;)

A few confirmation clicks on Metamask and card on the Opensea market!
