Last October, ENGIE and the Anglo American mining company announced an alliance to jointly develop the world's largest hydrogen dumper.

The vehicle is based on a conventional tipper with a capacity of 300 metric tons, which will need a hydrogen dispenser never seen before to work in the mine.

In order to refuel the tipper, a special custom dispenser has been built according to the tip of the tipper, which will be able to supply 1,000 kg of hydrogen per day.

This may seem like a savage, not so much when compared to the 100,000 liters of fuel per year spent by the conventional tipper and the 260 tons of carbon dioxide it emits.

The energy needed to obtain hydrogen will come from the solar panels in the same mine and the operating performance is expected to have lower maintenance costs, less noise and less emissions.
