For thousands of years, Aristotelian theories about gravity prevailed, why objects fall to the ground if you drop them, according to these theories all objects are made up of simpler elements, namely four different elements: air, water, fire and earth, which are grouped into two types, "heavies" and "light".

Earth and water are heavy elements and they underlie everything so they have a tendency to go down, on the other hand fire and air are light elements so they tend to go up, curiously no one questioned this for two thousand years until, officially, Galileo Galileo in the 17th century created his laws of motion, but this time based on experiments.

But now it seems that this merit does not correspond to Galileo but to the great Leonardo Da Vinci, according to researchers from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), in the United States, who have found some experiments showing how Leonardo tries to understand the force of gravity, a hundred years before.

Pero ahora parece que este mérito no corresponde a Galileo sino al genial Leonardo Da Vinci, según unos investigadores del Instituto Tecnológico de California (Caltech), en Estados Unidos, han encontrado unos experimentos donde se muestra como Leonardo intenta comprender la fuerza de la gravedad, cien años antes.

One of the researchers, Mory Gharib, while searching for documentation for his graduate work, found what appeared to be a drawing of a triangle on whose hypotenuse was written, upside down to be read in a mirror as Leonardo used to do, the phrase in Italian "Equatione di Moti" (Equation of Motion).

Uno de los investigadores, Mory Gharib, mientras buscaba documentación para su trabajo de postgrado, encontró lo que parecía ser un dibujo de un triángulo en cuya hipotenusa estaba escrito, al revés para ser leído en un espejo como Leonardo solía hacer, la frase en italiano "Equatione di Moti" (ecuación de movimiento).

In the document there were more triangles and the description of an experiment in which, according to these researchers, Leonardo was already aware that objects do not fall at a constant speed but undergo some acceleration. All this only confirms that Leonardo Da Vince was a genius.

En el documento aparecían más triángulos y la descripción de un experimento en el que, según estos investigadores, Leonardo ya era consciente de que los objetos no caen a una velocidad constante sino que sufren alguna aceleración. Todo esto no hace más que corroborar que Leonardo Da Vince era todo un genio.
