Hello @steemkids im back with another musical lesson on what you need to know about major and minor chords.
Music as some people may think is very easy or its nothing compared to other areaa or fields in life.. Lemme tell you guys something. Music is also a hard course compared to other careers in life.

What is a Chord:

A chord is simply defined as a combination of two or more notes on a musical instruments.. When a person playing the musical instrument plays two or more notes, he is playing in chords.
Lemme give u an example. Someone plays a song in a key of C and he is pressing up to 3 keys to give one sound. The key C which i said is doh can also be produced using the chord notation and ill explain that later on.

What is a Major Chord:

In music, a major chord can be defined as a chord that has a root key, a major third and a perfect 5th. It can otherwise called a triad.
Another thing you need to note is that a chord can take up to 5 keys. It dosent really have to be 3 keys pressed at the same time.. But inorder for it to be called a chord, it needs to have the 3triads as i have mentioned afore. So if u want to have a five key chord, it must contain the basic triads first of all.
A major example ill be showing here is the major chords of key C otherwise called Cmaj or Cm.

Major chord of key C:

The key of C has major chords which comprise of the three keys otherwise called triads, a root key, a major fifth and a perfect fifth. In the key of C, I mentioned that it starts with the key C and ends with the key C corresponding to doh, reh, mi....... doh.
Using the formula of a major chord:
Root | key C -
major third | key E -
Perfect fifth | key G -
Placing your fingers on this keys both on your left and right hands gives you a major key on key C.

What is a Minor Chord:

The minor chords are similar to the major ones but the only difference is that its a minor third and not a major third. The formula for the minor chords are the root, minor third and a perfect fifth. As similar to the major, ill do the same for key C minor.

Minor Chord of key C:

The minor chord of key C comprises of the following;
Root | key C
Minor 3rd | key E flat
Perfect 5th | key G.
As seen in the diagram above, the minor third is just a slight semitone down the key of E.
I hope that this lesson will be a blessing to everybody that has passion for music. Please do well to resteem and stay tuned for the next post.. Thank you
