After God told Rebecca the prophesy in the text above. Esau made it come to pass by selling his birthright to Jacob because of food.
Everything our God made is perfect. However,So not achieving God's purpose for one's life is not from Him.

There are many reasons one's birthright can be changed

1. Due to our Carelessness
   Birthright can be lost if we are too careless with our lives.
   

31 Jacob said, “Sell me your birthright now.” 32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

1. Wrong elderly Blessings
   What happened to Jacob and his brother, eventually manifested in the life of Ephraim and Manasseh. Jacob (Israel), is their grandfather and intentionally changed the destiny of the elder brother to his brothers.

1. Laziness
   David was picked as the new king. Samuel when he saw, hefty, tall and handsome elder brother of David, he was tempted to annoint them as king, but God said "NO", he was forced to ask, their father "are these the only sons you have"?

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God knows there's a hardworking small boy in the wilderness protecting his flock from bears and other dangerous animals. His brothers were too lazy to be crowned a king, God chose the last born over his elder brothers, we both know why.

1. Over ambition
   Fighting for what is not really yours or forcing the time for a breakthrough when it's not the right time, can lead to missing out on what's really yours.

Absalom, one of David's son, wanted to become the king while his father was still alive. In fact he slept with one of David's concubine just to be crowned. He was later killed because he was over ambitious.

Ahithophel answered, “Sleep with your father’s concubines whom he left to take care of the palace. Then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself obnoxious to your father, and the hands of everyone with you will be more resolute.” 22 So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and he slept with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel

Breaking the Yoke
Breaking the Yoke is only possible if we trace our steps back to God, our creator. Nothing is impossible for Him to do.
