The Dairy Game / The Meeting I attended - Onicha Town Union (O. T. U), Uyo Branch/14/1/2024

Hello Steemians, good evening to you all wonderful friends in this great community. I thank God for another successful business week that has ended, and I trust that the week was actually a productive one for everyone, because for me, it was a busy and a very productive one. Work has actually taken a lot of my time this week that I barely have time to pen down a diary of all the activities that has happened around in this week. But with opportunity I have now, let me share with you all my experiences at the meeting I attended last Sunday.

That Sunday morning, when I woke up, it was around 6:34am I guessed. I hurriedly took my bath, hopped to attend first service in our church that usually commenced 7:00 am. All my efforts to meet up with the time was futile as I ended up reaching the church at the time of the first service closing prayers, so I decided to stay back for the second service. While I sat down waiting for the second service to commence, a text message from the Onicha Town Union(O. T. U) association entered my phone.

So when I checked, it was a message calling for an emergency meeting of which all attendance was compulsory. So when the second service ended at about 1:39 pm, I quickly left the church to the house so I could refresh before going for the meeting. There was no food at home yet, so I got hold of the pawpaw I had in the house and used it as an appetizer.

When I was done eating the pawpaw, I dressed up and left for the meeting. I got to the meeting venue, and saw already seated 15 members of the association out of the 34 active members that we have in the association. So I greeted everyone and joined them to sit while waiting for the arrival of the chairman.

Finally the chairman arrived and the meeting commenced. He promised that the meeting brief. So he immediately told the floor the reason for the emergency meeting call. The one the members of the association was involved in a fatal motor accident and was rushed to the hospital. The hospital had demanded that a deposit of 215,000 naira which is equivalent to 704.9 steems be made before treatment.

All the members deliberated on it and concluded that the sum of 6324 naira which is equivalent to 20.73 steems will be contributed by each member for the victim medical bill. And after the agreement was reached, the chairman said a closing prayer and the meeting ended.

After I had exchanged a pleasantries with some of the members, I left the venue immediately so I could get to the house before night fall. By the time I got to my bus stop, it was already dark and I can't start making any hard food by that time. So I decided to stopped by at a nearby provision store and bought bread that I used for tea that night for my dinner.

After that, I went straight to the house. Already exhausted and tired, I managed to freshened up, had my dinner and retired for the day. That was how last Sunday went for me.
