The population of Tibesti

The population of the uplands is about 15 thousand people, of which only descendants of slaves (so-called "kamadiyya") are engaged in agriculture.

The main occupation for populated Tibetan semi-nomadic and nomadic tribes of the people of Tuba (otherwise - Tibu or Tebu) is cattle breeding - breeding camels, donkeys, goats and sheep (the number of the latter is estimated at 70 thousand heads).

Date palms, vegetables, fruits, tobacco and cotton are grown also in the fields with the help of irrigation systems.
