PORN
I visit art exhibitions on quite a regular basis this one caught my eye a couple of weeks ago.
PORN is a sculpture by Marc Bijl which is currently on display at the Kunsthallen Rotterdam. It is part of a modern art exhibition about our 21st century society.
It is poking fun at an art sculpture from the 20th century called LOVE which has exactly the same tilted O as the one above. The original LOVE art work is red hence, PORN, the perverted love, was colored black. It also seemed to have been painted with lack of dedication since the paint has dripped all along the base. It is as if the artist just wanted to get it over with. This artwork was the embodiment of porn to him.

I would have loved it if they could have gotten a LOVE sculpture for the exhibition as well. Together they are even more though provoking :)

I think I would have flipped the color scheme though... to make it look just that little bit more gross...
