I think that you may try to use a photo from your Facebook account and because it's not a public picture you can't use it. You should download it and upload it again in a different location.

Yes it seems you are correct - I was trying to use a hidden picture on my account. Thanks for your help!

For the computer photos, I think not.
If the image is already stored on the internet, right click Copy image address and then paste should work.
