Be a better version of yourself

Earlier this week, I had a tete a tete with a friend, who in the process of our discussion said he wants to be famous like most people around the globe.
"I want to be known,i want to be famous like most people around the world.i want my name to be written in Guinness book of records like Barrack Obama the first African American president.

I was in a state of high tranquility while listening to him. To an extent I was perplexed and amazed not because of who he wants to be or who he was comparing his personality with,but because he didn't say anything regarding to how to get to where the people with the names he was mentioning are.
I only told him one thing about life.

"life is like a marathon race, is not how fast you start but how well you end, it is not the speed you start with that you end with, it is not the point you started from that you will
end".

Trying to be like someone else will not make you that person. You can only wish but you can never be. You can only follow the foot prints of that person if you want to be successful as well. Just be yourself.

"Always be a first rate version of yourself and not a second rate version of someone else". Judy Garland.

That great man that you are looking up to today is a fulfilled being. Have you bother to ask how he made it that far?
Your answer can be a "no".
Then why do you want to be like him?

Wishing to be like someone can make you fall from grace to grass. It is always better to be yourself, but a better version of yourself.
