FLOWER POWER: The Buttercup
Buttercups are also known as Ranunculus. There are over 200 to 600 species and grow wild all over the world. Buttercups obtain their bright color from the yellow pigments in the petals exterior layer, and their shiny gloss is due to layers of air just beneath the surface reflecting the light like mirrors.
