Why You Are Poor.
The raison d’être (ultimate purpose) of this piece is not to discredit your efforts so far to become wealthy or bug you with unrealistic financial principles or get quick rich formulas.
The ultimate purpose of this piece is to have a critical view of some reasons capable of causing poverty and practical ways of dealing with it.
Some say unequal opportunities contribute to poverty which is not gainsaying, some believe their reason of not becoming wealthy is as a result of ancestral curses , while others believe it's one witch doctor that has bewitched them, so they come to conclusion that there is no escape.
For me, you can only be poor if you choose to be. The late popular Afro beat legend fela kuti sang a song, in his lyrics and I quote "suffer suffer suffer for life na your fault be that" which literally means you are suffering because you choose to.
Let's look at why you are poor;
- Spiritual poverty
- Physical poverty
- Mental poverty
Spiritual poverty
When you don't have a clear understanding of whom your God is, His power, his sovereignty, his purpose for man, then you will find it difficult to succeed. Establish a strong relationship with your God you will succeed.
Physical Poverty
when you have the believe that you can't make it like others. Do not look down on yourself you can succeed, start up a business no matter how small, develop your skills make it known, your skill will announce you .
Mental Poverty
The difference between the poor and the rich is the mindset, we should be mentally positive knowing that thoughts are drivers and have the ability to give us our desires.
Taking cognizance of this we should do the following if we want to opt out of poverty ;
- Invest no matter how little
- Have a vision, see yourself living in abundance
- Remove fear, believe you cannot fail
- Have a plan
- Make friends with people greater than you
- Manage your income
If you try out this few advice, I can guarantee you are on your way to prosperity.

Thanks for Reading!
This is a great share. Well in my opinion you've done justice to the topic buy I feel you made us to expect too much in the beginning and then you dint deliver as much as anticipated.
That being said, I feel the physical and spiritual aspects of poverty can be subsumed under the mental aspect of poverty. You were correct to say that what separates the rich from the poor is mindset. I totally agree with you.
Nice post all the same!
@buterdaniel
Thanks
I love the part of mental and physical poverty because that's the most common that we can relate to; one must guide his thoughts and understanding of life less he developed a misplaced priorities and confiscate the state of his mind which may lead to mental poverty.
Poverty is not determined by scarcity of things around a man, poverty is a mindset that is characterized with sadness and unsatisfaction over ones life.
That's why you see men that has less yet they live more fulfilled life than they that had it all.
Cultivating confidence and contentment is best for every man irrespective of his GDP.
From my view:
Poverty and richness is as a man determined to see himself.
Thanks a lot @masterwriter
