For those who insist that traveling is all about the journey, I say: It depends on which carrier you are flying with. This summer we had the pleasure of traveling to Europe, after lots of research I selected Air Transat to get us from Canada to Italy, then we used trains and planes to travel between cities and countries. After hours of planning a 4-week trip, our greatest issue was finding a good price for a flight between Italy and Greece, and this is where I chose a carrier because of their price and did not bother to look into their reputation...This is a big NO-NO!
Always do your research before you book any trip! We purchased our flight on a website CheapOAir.com, airline carrier Iberia. I did not think about looking into the carrier that Iberia subcontracted to...In this case, it was VUELING, do not forget this carriers name and avoid it when you see it. Vueling has the worst customer service, just take a look at what pops up on a simple search in Google! I did not think about that.
This is where we learned our greatest lesson of all time, better to spend a little more to have peace of mind. Not only did it take longer than expected to get from Rome to Athens, they lost our luggage. All this because I wanted to save 200$, well in the end between the flight delays, delayed luggage, missing items and finally the time we had to stay in Athens to wait for the luggage, this cost way more than 200$.
I agree, Vueling is horrible. I had the same experience and had the hardest time getting a hold of them. They don't even answer the phones. Took me 3 months after i got back in order to get a reply, which went nowhere.
Good luck to anyone who uses their services.
Many complain about the same issues, take a look at their twitter feed...They are the worst company! I'd rather pay more and have my head at ease!
