🔹 MY ART - mandala painting - process
Hi mates, after some time I bring you my new painting. It is not a thing I would do for myself, but as an order. People still like mandalas, so today I would like to show you one of my own. I caught also a process, so here it is.
I used canvas on a frame in a size of 60x60cm. I usualy paint with acrylic paint and use also golden or silver contour. First I need to make a sketch. I prepare a grid and paint the pattern on it. Then I can start to paint and the contour comes at the end.
Thanks for watching!

Very nice and beautiful painting. Keep up the good work
Really beautiful. It looks to me like Lotus Flower. I know about Mandala more of Carl Jung books. There they are treated as psychotherapeutic images and have a very profound meaning for the soul of the man. Upvoted.
thank you, yes, they should work like that, thats why people want them :)
beautiful,I love mandalas
I think it would be easier to fill the shapes in gouache, it doesn't keep the brush stroke texture
thanks for the idea, you are right about it.. I will try :)
I paint decorative elements and with acrylic I used to put 3 layers of paint until it looked smooth 😝
So beautiful! :)
Hi @marty-arts, your work is beautiful as usual but in particular I was quite amazed by how good your freehand curves are with the pencil. Do you have any tips or techniques or is it just practice? I struggle with so many aspects of drawing but circles and curves are nightmares for me :p
Hello, thank so much :) well, its about training.. I made at least hundred mandalas so I learned to draw nice lines... it is easy with pencil, more difficult it is with contour paint.. but one of the rules is to think while you are doing the line. you have to realise when you should change the direction, so you need to sense where the line will end. I dont know how to explain it better :)
It is beautiful and colourful! It looks like a lot of hardwork but the end result turned out to be magnificent.
Pretty! Thanks for showing a bit of your process. As an artist myself, it's always interesting to see that part of things.
Ooh, nice. I like the hearts you've woven into this mandala design. I've experimented with some watercolor mandalas, and it was a bit painful to get the geometry right. Required such precision! Every wavering brushstroke made a mess of the design, like the example you see here. :) Still, I like the combination of math and art, like the combination of logic and love.
Makes me wish I had a next-level Spirograph, to handle the geometry in a snap, because I do appreciate the mandala (and the Medicine Wheel too), as a symbol.
Beautiful work
I am surprised you don't like mandalas, I have seen the ones you have made prior to this and they are absolutely beautiful, some of my favorite pieces from you. This one is beautiful as well.
